The one thing about teething I wish people would mention is that is lasts. And lasts. And lasts. And maybe after a month or so, you might see teeth!
For the past 7 or 8 months, Billy has been teething. Ribbons of drool running down his chin and drenching his shirt is a nice indication of this development and every mother nodded with agreement that he was teething, but not a single mother told me of the horrors of teething at night. The constant waking and stirrings. The crankiness. The needfulness of a baby that doesn’t understand why he is in pain. The lack of eating.
And for the longest time, I thought it was just sleep issues. I didn’t equate the two with each other because I couldn’t understand how he could be teething for MONTHS without teeth.
So, even though there are no teeth showing, all of those symptoms were for Billy teething related. And that is my rant on teething.
So. There.
