Ben and I are proud to announce that we are expecting a baby boy this November. His expected due date is Nov. 25th (Thanksgiving) and bets are on as to whether he’ll come out before the turkey, after the turkey, or right when the turkey is also done.
He is NOT to be the turkey.
We’re registered in the following retail outlets:
But we’re also greatly appreciative of anything you can give. Please note to buy cold weather clothes or clothing that for 6 mos+, simply because babies grow really fast and we’re hoping he’ll wear things more than once. Also, Babies’RUs has great coupons for 15% off any item, but you need to look for them online– the website has the weekly/monthly ads which have all of the coupons. Target and LandofNod also have plenty of coupons for free shipping if you search for them via google. ALSO: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE INCLUDE GIFT RECEIPTS. Understandably, we don’t want to return items, but from every mom I’ve talked to, ALL STORES REQUIRE RECEIPTS EVEN ON A REGISTRY and sometimes you just need to return it, despite all of our best intentions.
We also have a few things we ask that you do NOT purchase for us for safety reasons: sleep positioners (SIDS/suffocation), walkers (14,000 injuries per year), bath seats (drowning babies), doorway jumpers (recalled often for safety reasons, spring defects and baby injuries), wipe warmers (fire risk in nursery, 10,000s recalled), and baby bicycle seats (ever see a baby bike helmet?).
And finally, the blog will resume again soon. Afterall, I do have a fascinating topic to write about now!
Actually… I have seen a baby bike helmet. My in-laws run a bike shop. But regardless, because of neck strength and jostling issues, a baby shouldn’t be in a bike seat or even a trailer until at least 6 months (maybe a year depending on who you ask). If you want a baby bike helmet, though, I’m sure I could get you one.
Congratulations on your little guy!
It just seems so wrong! Anyhow, I got that from a baby gear guide and it makes logical sense.
